The Glasshouse Mountains - Queensland

The Glasshouse Mountains on the Sunshine Coast Queensland are spectacular.
There are numerous small quaint, craft villages around that add to the enjoyment of the
time spent soaking up the sun and scenery.

Feast of Christ the King

The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
Fresh and green are the pastures where he gives me repose.
Psalm 23:1

THE first few words of this psalm must rank as among the best known spiritual verses of all time. But, as with so many of the most popular parables, at the first hint of them at Mass our minds can easily drop into neutral. We know what is going to happen next, after all, so why listen?
On the odd occasion, however, we find a new insight. In truth, new insights are readily available but we are too often unavailable with our attention. We find ourselves wanting a lot of things in this life, even those of us who claim we don’t. But, what if we had it all?
The psalmist says we already do have it all.
This psalm can be interpreted as saying “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.”
What if we really believed it?
How would it change our lives?
We have everything we need to carry out everything God is asking us to do.
There is nothing else we need; the secret is to trust God and to use those talents we have been given.
It’s perhaps the hardest challenge we are given to face – believing we lack nothing. It’s life changing.

Lord, give me nothing today; just help me to thank you constantly for what I have.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing
